Kyle Jaros has been awarded a John Fell OUP Research Fund small grant to conduct early-stage fieldwork for a new project entitled “City States or State Cities? Urban Governance Restructuring in China.” This project examines how recent administrative and fiscal reforms are affecting the governance models of China’s swelling cities, and explores why recentralising reforms have gone to greater lengths in some city-regions than others.
