The School of Interdisciplinary Area Studies seek applications for part-time (50% FTE), fixed-term Departmental Lectureship in Contemporary Chinese Studies.
The role will involve teaching and teaching-related administration in the Contemporary China Studies programme. This includes giving lectures and classes as part the core course Study of Contemporary China; classes in research methods and an option course as well as supervise some masters’ dissertations.
Candidates should specialise in sociology, anthropology, politics or human geography and have teaching experience, fieldwork experience and an active research agenda.
The post is based at The University of Oxford China Centre, Canterbury Road, Oxford and is fixed-term until 31 July 2020.
The School is looking for the candidate who most fully meets the following criteria: relevant postgraduate qualification (preferably a doctorate); an aptitude for teaching and some experience of teaching and research; sufficient depth and breadth of knowledge in the subject to develop course materials and research proposals; publication record and familiarity with the existing literature and research in the field; experience of qualitative/quantitative research and analytical techniques.
