Paul Irwin Crookes presented the latest research thinking on the future of economic relations between the United Kingdom and Taiwan in light of Brexit at a policy seminar hosted by The Royal United Services Institute for Defence and Security Studies (RUSI).

In his presentation, Paul examined opportunities for both economies offered by potential synergies in high technology sectors but also outlined the political challenges facing prospects for a UK-Taiwan trade agreement in the context of the Britain’s strategic focus on developing closer relations with mainland China. This analysis built on research work undertaken for Paul’s recently published co-authored book entitled ‘The Politics of EU–China Economic Relations: An Uneasy Partnership’ from Palgrave Macmillan.
