The options modules gave me both breadth and depth in my studies, while the dissertation project was an opportunity to really familiarize myself with a specific area of research. Just as importantly, having access to the vibrant academic and cultural life of Oxford provided context and enrichment to support my studies.
The summer after finishing the course I organized a food sourcing conference for a hunger-relief charity based in Philadelphia. Since returning to the UK, I have been working both as a baker for an artisan bakery, and with a China-based startup focused on providing sustainable agriculture market research for foreign investors in China.
