Dr Hekai Weng is an associate professor and assistant director of the Research Centre of Chinese Political Thought, School of Marxism, Tsinghua University (Beijing). He received his BA and MA (Philosophy) from Peking University and his PhD (Humanities) from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
His research interests include the intellectual history of modern China, modern socialist ideas and movements and contemporary political theory. His recent publications include Liberal Nationalism in Modern China: Zhang Junmai’s Thoughts on Nation-building (Beijing: Law Press, 2010) and Harold Laski in China (Changchun: Jilin Publishing Company, Forthcoming).
