I am a doctoral student in Area Studies (China) at St Cross College, University of Oxford. Before my DPhil, I completed an MSc in Contemporary Chinese Studies at Oxford and an MA and a BA in Political Science at National Taiwan University. My doctoral research examines past Taiwan Strait crises and analyses how the People's Republic of China, the Republic of China (Taiwan) and other global actors framed and interacted during the crisis. I attempt to devise a theoretical framework highlighting the political nature of the military crises across the Taiwan Strait and answer why cross-strait tensions have become internationalised.
In addition to studying cross-strait relations and Chinese foreign relations, my research interests include US-China relations and security in East Asia.
