I was working for The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Beijing, China, prior to joining Oxford. Now I am doing an internship in UNDP International Policy Center for Inclusive Growth whose work is about South-south Cooperation and knowledge sharing on social protection among Southern countries. The increasing reputation of the Oxford China Centre and thoughts of challenging my own knowledge on contemporary China are the major reasons I applied for this programme. In addition, China Oxford Scholarship Fund and the Centre's scholarship supported my life in Oxford and made me further determined to take this programme. During the stay in Oxford and the Centre, I have touched much new and challenging research on contemporary China and also made many friends from different professional backgrounds. It is interesting to have discussions on China and experience different thinking styles. Furthermore, I also realised the valuable characteristics of being a respectable researcher are: be persistent with your research and open to question.
